Hi, I'm Ray Pierce, of Photo NRG Photography.  My love for photography, goes back to my sophomore year in high school, when I got my first camera, it was a Continental 110 camera, wow!!!!, if that's not dating myself. As a young photographer, with his first camera, I took all kinds of pictures, some that made sense, and some that didn't. When I look back at my early work, I started calling a lot of it, TOURIST JUNK. For example, I was at a Blue Angels airshow one summer, and there was a B-52 bomber on display. I thought it would be a cool idea to take pictures of the inside of the bomb bay, thinking that it would prove how big this plane was. Not a good idea. when I got the pictures back, I had to explain what I was looking at. It was then and there I coined the phrase TOURIST JUNK, meaning pictures that make no sense to anyone, but the person who took them, and usually have to be explained what the viewer is looking at.

 

Since then, I've progressed from that little 110 camera to 35mm film, up 35mm DSLR. With the help of a very good friend, model and lighting assistant Gillian Clare, my ability has increased further than I could ever imagine. This is why I started this website, so I can showcase my work, and to start a Freelance Photography business of my own.
